Tuareg Mats
Tuareg Mats originated from the Tuareg nomads, a smaller sect of the berber tribes that inhabit the Sahara of Northern Africa. The techniques of making these Mats have existed for thousands of years. The materials of palms and reeds can be found in their surroundings, making the production very convenient. Leaves create the base of the mat while using leather from camels or goats to create the decorative shapes and symbols. A Tuareg mat is a timeless piece of Moroccan art for the floor or hanging on walls.
