A Day at the Topkapi Palace Museums’ Kaftan Collection
While in Istanbul Paige visited the Topkapi Palace, home of the Ottoman sultans for 400 years. It was built by Mehmed II the Conqueror and then used as the imperial residence & seat of government. Now the palace serves as a museum which includes a collection of kaftans that belonged to the sultans. These kaftans are one of the most celebrated collections of Turkish textiles in the world.
