Veteran Artist

Project Raha is an extension of the Command Purpose Foundation whose mission is to serve military women transitioning into the civilian world through art. Artist & U.S. Air Force Veteran, Jenn Hassin, collects personal artifacts with embedded histories of trauma including old military uniforms & traditional Afghan clothing. These materials become wall hangings, art installations & sculptures. Jenn Hassin only has one rule, to create beauty out of these materials.

This particular initiative benefits a group of of Afghan women, known as the Female Tactical Platoon. These women were trained and worked alongside the U.S. Army to fight the Taliban from 2011-2021.

From this group, thirty-nine female members were evacuated to the U.S. during the fall of Kabul and are rebuilding their lives in the U.S. Project Raha seeks to raise funds through this benefit to serve these women in rediscovering their purpose, value, voice and community.

The artworks in the auction will be on view at
Affirmation Arts in New York City from November 2-30, 2023, open weekdays from 10am-6pm EDT.
